Somewhere in Nevada:
They're out there, I can hear them thinking. They won't get me. Oh no, not like they got John...
Poor John, just hasn't been the same since the probe. And the stitches, you'd think he gave birth. No, see back in my day, the technology was smaller, they were more discreet. That was before the first invasion...
What you didn't hear about the invasion? Well, I shouldn't be surprised. The media did such a good job covering it up. They replaced most our politicians, is was all quite like. Only way to tell was by watching the skies. Dead give away, all the lights and such.
Don't take off your tinfoil hat, they'll hear your thoughts, and give us both away. I can't take the probe. Never even had a colonoscopy. That's it keep your hat on. It will be daylight soon. They don't like the light. Soon we'll be safe.

The audience is fragmenting. It happend so quickly no one even realized what occured. Millions of people all clamouring for attention, wanting, it needing it. myspace was just the beginning, that audience has since fractured across the web. The sci-fi writers of old got it wrong, our vitual reality, is not going to be the matrix (that's William Gibson, not the Wachoski's that was just riffing on a theme, sorry Neo.) virtual reality is what we are living now- at least for now.
It has given rise to the micro-celebrity, cyber-stalking, Dane Cook, Tila Tequila, and countless others. This is the beginning of our own Matrix. We are all just cogs in the machine, and it demands to be fed.
